Rosemary Matthews Communications Manager at Caerphilly county borough council has joined in helping the Bargoed Chamber of Trade’s green bag travel widely.

Rosemary was visiting Caerphilly’s twin town Ludwigsburg in Germany on a
school exchange planning visit. Local school Heolddu Comprehensive will be working with students from Ludwigsburg  on a sustainable project from January to June and students who are learning German for GCSE will visit Ludwigsburg next July.

The Bargoed Bag highlighted the eco friendly initiative from the Bargoed Chamber of Trade and demonstrated how local businesses take the sustainable agenda seriously. Rosemary said "When I was asked to take the bag by the Chamber of Trade I had no hesitation, it is a great initiative. I used the bag throughout the three day visit it was extremely useful and very eco
friendly and if it helps promote the Bargoed area all the better. I'll be making sure all the students take one with them next year."

Rosemary is pictured with the bag at the annual largest European pumpkin exhibition in the Ludwigsburg Palace Gardens just a short walk from the main town square.

The linen bags available from members of the Bargoed Chamber of Trade were provided as a response to the demand for eco-friendly bags and to support Bargoed’s bid to become a fair-trade town.

The Chamber would like pictures of the bag in unusual circumstances/places so please either send or email them to the Secretary.

Bargoed Chamber of Trade and its members would like to thank everyone for their support at what is a difficult time for the town and wish everyone a Happy New Year.
